She Should Have Said No

June 23, 2006

(I wrote this poem as an adjective exercise for my creative writing class last spring at SDSU.)

Moment
Hope, Opportunity
Feels like forever
Confused, Excited, Frustrating, Promise
Fleeting

He
Throbs, Yearns
Reaching for her
Contact, Snap, Surge, Fire
Moan

She
Frightened, Wanting
He thrusts in
Fleshy, Red, Contact, Regret
Cries

It
Union, Penetration
Their bodies tangle
Fierce, Panting, Hot, Overflowing
Sin

They
Broken, Separate
Lie in the bed
Empty, Hurting, Naked, Alone
Finished
