Why Don’t You Have a Boyfriend?

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

I’d like to say that it’s because I’m picky, but honestly I’m not turning down many fellas.

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

I hope it’s not because I’m a little chubby. That idea makes me lose respect for Men as a group.

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

I’m afraid it’s because I’m too opinionated. I like that aspect of my personality and I’d hate to think I would have to sacrifice it in order to have a relationship.

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

I tell myself that it’s because God’s planning it that way. But honestly, when I talk to Him about it I don’t get a lot of answers — so I can’t really say for sure that He doesn’t want me to have one.

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

I’m staring to think it’s because all the boys I know are too shallow or too stupid to appreciate me.

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

It’s an annoying question to have to deal with over and over, isn’t it?

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

Honestly, if I knew why I didn’t have a boyfriend I would probably change whatever it is about me that seems to repulse the opposite sex and then I would have a boyfriend. Not that I’m that anxious to get a fella…

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

But it would be nice to have a boyfriend, because if I did nobody would ask me:

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

It not that frustrating when my friends ask — but most of my friends don’t ask.

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

But when virtual strangers think it’s polite converstation, it’s just isn’t cool.

“Crystal, why don’t you have a boyfriend?”

Maybe all of you have an answer to this query: Tell me — and you can be brutally honest — why doesn’t Crystal have a boyfriend? It’s an annoying question isn’t it?

I know that most people mean it to be a compliment. Like they are trying to say, “You’re really cool Crystal,” and since I’m cool I should have a man. But after hearing this question for the tenth time in one week it starts to sound like, “What’s wrong with you, Crystal?”

I think the next time some one asks me I’ll say, “I don’t know. How’d you ever find a girlfriend/boyfriend?”
