Calling in the one…

May 29, 2009

Ring, ring…
Ring, ring…
I think you have a bad connection.

So far it seems like I have had a bad connection in my attempt to call in the one. Just no one on the other end of the line for the most part — and I’m left holding the phone.

In my attempt to heal from the newest hang up I have started reading a book called “Calling in the One.” So far it is amazing and very affirming that the attitudes I have about life and love are healthy and on the right track.

It is actually a more of a class than just a book. It gives me homework and exercises to do throughout the day. I’ve read the first week’s worth of exercises and I am going to start them on Monday.

Yesterday’s lesson had an amazing quote in it that I wanted to share and get comments on:

“A human being is part of the whole…He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of … consciousness. The delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and for affections for a few persons nearest to us.”

Today’s lesson was actually all about the stuff I wrote in my blog yesterday! How crazy is that? It also had a lot of ideas in it that I have been telling people fro a long time. It is sort of reaffirming my faith in universal truth in interpersonal relationships.

Yesterday the homework was easy. All I had to do was remind myself throughout the day that “I am connected to everyone and everything.” Today I have to make a list of five things or more that I need in order to be happy in a relationship. Then I have to create those things in my relationship with myself.

So, it’s only the third day and I’m already doing some heavy emotional lifting. So, I’ll probably be sore for a while, but I have to get stronger!

Love to all of you.
