Happy (30th) Birthday to Me

June 23, 2009

Hey there, for those of you who are really interested in my current plight, I’m sorry I haven’t blogged in the last few days. I’m also sorry because I don’t really have anything too significant to say today. I just need to get back into my blogging habit.

So my last blog was Saturday and my blog before that was Wednesday. I am really falling off of my blogging every day wagon. Well a lot has happened since then and I have no idea where to start or what is important.

But Shapeera got married (I’ll write about that later). Because of the wedding a bunch of great pals were in town and we had a TON of fun. We also upset one another and worked through some relationship stuff – as always.

As a result of the wedding stuff and hanging with those pals I have been thinking about the fact that I will be thirty in a few short months – and I want to accomplish something by then. Something big, something important, something that will assuage my frustration over not being married yet.

I can think of a few possibilities but I haven’t pinned anything down yet. One of the possibilities is to lose 40 pounds – but I should probably do that anyway. Another is to decide on a graduate school and get accepted. Maybe I should make my goal to find the man of my dreams the way the author of this book did. Oh, or write a book…or finish my play.

Wow, a lot of ideas. Anyone else have an idea for me?

I also want to plan something big for this birthday. I’m thinking a trip with some of my really important friends. Like Denver for a spa weekend with Julie and Dee and my sis…or a week-long road trip to NY to visit Sky (and see a Broadway play). Maybe the three of us will just have to figure it out together.

I kind of want to something that is almost as big ass a wedding – is that crazy? I want to register for gifts and have a big reception for me. To celebrate my life. To have other’s celebrate who I am. Yeah, it is probably a narcissistic wish, and I don’t know how to deal with it really because my family doesn’t really do birthdays.

Anyway, those are some of the things this weekend has me thinking.
